Because any user.js preference that is legitimate is written to prefs.js when you place the user.js file in the profile folder. Firefox is updated regularly and preferences may change because of this. The following list is a work in progress. This can be done on the about:config page, or by placing a user.js file in the profile directory of the Firefox user. Firefox users find some of those options listed in the graphical user interface, but full control over the browser is only granted if changes are made to the browser's configuration. Mozilla Firefox is without doubt the web browser that gives the most control to users in regards to privacy and security.
